Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about device registration and management.

Who is this for?

IT teams and users registering corporate devices where consistent identifiers are needed for inventory and Intune workflows.

Do I need an account?

Yes—use your organization’s Microsoft work account. Start here: Sign in.

What data is captured?

Typically serial number, manufacturer, model, and any notes you provide. The exact fields depend on your configuration.

Why don’t I see the Admin dashboard?

Admin access is restricted. If you believe you should have access, contact your admin or email support@dynamicendpoints.com.

Do we need to configure an extra App ID / Client Secret for Intune?

Usually, no. If you sign in with Microsoft and your tenant has granted the required Microsoft Graph permissions, the app can call Intune using your delegated sign-in.

The Intune Settings (optional) screen is only needed as a fallback for app-only (service principal) access when delegated permissions aren’t available.

What does “Check Existing” / “Skip existing in Intune” do?

Check Existing queries Intune for matching corporate identifiers and shows their current state (like enrollment status). If you enable Skip existing in Intune, the next upload will automatically exclude identifiers that already exist (based on your most recent “Check Existing” run).

Can we upload a CSV or Excel file?

Yes—you can import device lists from CSV or XLSX on the Device Registration page and in the Admin dashboard. This feature is currently in beta.

  • A header row is required.
  • Serial Number column is required; other columns are optional.
  • Excel import reads the first worksheet.
  • Limit: up to 5,000 rows per import.

Can we export our device list?

Yes—admins can export filtered device lists to CSV from the Admin dashboard. This is useful for sharing, backups, or quick audits.

Can I install this like an app (PWA)?

Yes. You can install it on desktop or mobile (Add to Home Screen / Install app). Some pages may show an offline screen if you lose connectivity; uploads and Intune actions require an active connection.

Where do Intune permissions come from?

If you sign in with Microsoft and your tenant has granted the required Microsoft Graph permissions, the app uses your delegated access to call Intune. If delegated access isn’t available, admins can configure app-only access under Intune Settings (optional).

Do you support “messy” spreadsheets?

The importer expects a header row and a clear Serial Number column. During import, you can map your spreadsheet columns to the fields the app understands. If the sheet is missing headers or mixes multiple tables, reformatting it will produce better results.

Where do I go if I’m stuck?
